A Power of Attorney provides a person (the Attorney) the authority to perform certain functions on someones behalf. The most common forms that a Power of Attorney takes are "General" and "Enduring". There is a significant difference between the General and Enduring Power of Attorney documents. Both General and Enduring Power of Attorney products are available online (for all states & territories) for those who wish to complete the process online, or the booklet version (only available for NSW & VIC) for those who prefer pen & paper. It is recommended by financial planners that all adults should have a Power of Attorney in place should you be unavailable or incapacitated to perform personal business. Particulary important for those who travel frequently.
